GCSE Maths Course

Our comprehensive online GCSE Maths course follows the Edexcel specification (1MA1) in one academic year.

Three written examination papers taken at the end of the course.

Paper 1. Non-calculator assessment – 1.5 hours – 80 marks

Paper 2. Calculator assessment – 1.5 hours – 80 marks

Paper 3. Calculator assessment – 1.5 hours – 80 marks

Graded and certificated on a nine-grade scale from 9 to 1, using the total marks across all three papers. 9 is the highest grade attainable. The Higher Tier specification aims for grades 4 to 9.

Assessment centres (local to each student) will be confirmed during the course.

The course is taught over one academic year (starting September 2020), split into 3 terms.

Online classes are 2 hours per session. High level, fast track tuition is provided using proven methods. See the Courses Timetable for more information.

Homework will be set to enhance learning and informal assessments will be carried out during the course to track progress.

All essential course materials are provided i.e. textbooks. Students need their own notebooks, stationery (pens etc.), CASIO fx-991EX CLASSWIZ scientific calculator, 

Casio FX 991EX Classwiz Calculatorand Geometrical school sets (30cm ruler with metric and imperial graduations, 180 degree protractor, 45 degree set square, 60 degree set square and compass).

Additional resources are provided through a private Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) – including videos and subject notes. Access is essential to enhance learning, and complete the course.

An internet connection and up-to-date browser is needed to access the online classes and VLE.

Basic understanding of maths. Good reading and writing skills in English.
