Our comprehensive online A-Level Physics course follows the AQA specification (7408) in one or two academic years.
Please Note: The one year course is a very intensive programme – to fast track your tuition and opportunity for success.
Three written examination papers taken at the end of the course.
Paper 1 – Section 1-5 and 6.1 – 2 hours – 85 marks
Paper 2 – Section 6.2, 7 and 8 – 2 hours – 85 marks
Paper 3 – Practical skills and data analysis, and one section from 9-13 – 2 hours – 80 marks
The A-level qualification will be graded on a six-point scale: A*, A, B, C, D and E – where A* is the highest attainable grade. Students who fail to reach the minimum standard for grade E will be recorded as U (unclassified) and will not receive a qualification certificate.
All students are expected to carry out 12 required practical activities during the course. A-level grades will be based only on marks from written exams.
A separate endorsement of practical skills will be taken alongside the A-level. This will be assessed by teachers and will be based on direct observation of students’ competency in a range of skills that are not assessable in written exams.
Required practicals will be outsourced to a college local to the student and confirmed during the course. Assessment centres (local to each student) will also be confirmed during the course.
The course is taught over one or two academic years (starting September 2020), split into 3 or 6 terms respectively.

Homework will be set to enhance learning and informal assessments will be carried out during the course to track progress.
All essential course materials are provided i.e. textbooks. Students need their own notebooks, stationery (pens etc.), CASIO fx-991EX CLASSWIZ scientific calculator,
Additional resources are provided through a private Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) – including videos and subject notes. Access is essential to enhance learning, and complete the course.
An internet connection and up-to-date browser is needed to access the online classes and VLE.
Grade 6 or above in GCSE Physics or Science, or equivalent.
Basic understanding of maths, and good reading and writing skills in English.
